Cynthia's Story

Our daughter—a 15 year old freshman at Catholic Central High School—passed on from this life on November 2, 2014, at Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital. She was a member of the CCHS Marching Band as a Royalette. She had Royalette practice after school until four o’clock on October 30, 2014.
She then returned to the gym for 5:30 basketball practice. About twenty minutes into practice, during basketball drills she suffered what appeared to be a seizure, but was actually a cardiac arrest. One of the coaches, a cardiac nurse, tried desperately to revive her. The emergency squad arrived very quickly, and she was then taken to Trinity Hospital and later transported to Children’s Hospital.
